Problem: text in the trac wiki looks pretty rough, and IMO makes dense technical info uninviting and hard to read. Main issues are -

No max-width for text, so lines can get mahoosive.
Contrast and spacing between headings, paragraphs, lists etc. is too slight.
Line-spacing is quite narrow.
Hard black/white contrast makes things a little harder to read for most, and a lot harder to read for dyslexics.

Solution: Develop a few lines of CSS code to improve the default text formatting on the wiki.

I propose to do this as part of my Documentation work, if that's acceptable?

#364: Migrate from SVN to Git

SVN smells. Git rules.

OK, so we need to get a publicly available Git repo in place and move to a modern workflow after importing the existing SVN stuff.

Urgent tasks:

Chris: Tell me where you want to put the master repo? In kiwi:/web or somewhere else?
Chris: add Trac Git plugin: http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/GitPlugin
Jim: import from svn repo to new git master using attached users mapping and this process: http://www.jonmaddox.com/2008/03/05/cleanly-migrate-your-subversion-repository-to-a-git-repository/ (except it's git svn not git-svn per the article)
Jim & Chris: look into best way to clone the repo over the existing structure without affecting the LIVE site

Then later:

Jim: look at best workflow practices for importing direct from Drupal.org for core and contrib, plus managing the code in a multi-developer environment.
Jim: update documentation with new Git workflow
Chris: once proven to work, remove SVN cruft from sites directories.

The rough plan:

A new Transition git master repository lives on Kiwi as the SVN repo does today.
Developers clone it onto their machine, do changes, push/commit them back to master
DEV and TEST sites use a plain git pull from the master
LIVE uses tagged releases only.

Alan, the other sysadmin at Webarchitects is in a better position than me to help with some of the more complex sysadmin issues so I hope it's OK that I have added an account for him here following the wiki:TracUserAdmin notes.

He is looking at helping with these tickets:

ticket:599 Server time drift
ticket:555 Load spikes causing the TN site to be stopped for 15 min at a time
ticket:593 Migrating Puffin to a ZFS file server

I don't expect he will be recording much time, I hope that is OK, he already has sudo access to all the servers.

There is a http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/TimingAndEstimationSVNPostCommitHook which if installed would allow people to add links to tickets, close them and record time spent in their svn commit messages, for example to add 30min to ticket number 1234 and also close it:

svn ci -m "Updates which fixes #1234 (0.5)"

If people think this would be of use I can install, test and document it.

When you put something in "Add Hours to Ticket", it overwrites the "Total hours" with that value, rather than adding...

Hi, There's been a problem with the Intransitionmovie website, upon updating the table rates for shipping cost changes on Friday, a large amount of data disappeared and I cannot re add any new fields to the table rates. (in other words lots of our shipping rates for the movie will not now work!)

I've been in contact with the Plugin Devs at Woo, and they have asked me to ask you this : (also if so, link in text below offers a solution to try)

Could you check with your host if the post data is being cut off by 'suhosin'. As you can imagine, a lot of data is posted from this form, and some hosts run a security module called suhosin which cuts large amounts of data off. The suhosin variables are listed here: http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce-docs/codex/integration/known-conflicts/

I'm having to heavily compress info-graphic images in the documentation to get them under the file-size limit of 256Kb. This is making them less readable.

Please could the file-size limit be increased to at least 1Mb?
