please note also - further to conversation with laura - remove the 'themes' listings from imported: /news/community and imported: /blogs listings page (it looks fine on /news but not on anything imported)

hours
                changed from 0.0 to 0.25

owner
              changed from jim to ed

status
                changed from new to assigned

totalhours
                changed from 0.0 to 0.25

New nodes created/imported will have the updated teaser size: 200 chars. Old ones will stay the same until resaved OR we do some massaging - is that ok? Can research retro-updating the older nodes?

'Themes' removed from _teasers only_ of imported news and imported blogs. Did you want the node view changed too?

Harder/costlier stuff:

Title linked to original location on/news/community - not easy, since this is a combined view of several content types. I assume this would remove the 'original article' field from display? Let me know this is required and I'll edit the template file.

show initiative title linked to profile page instead of author for /news/community: As above.

Keep old ones as they are - no need for retro-fitting.

themes removed from node view - not sure what you mean - sorry - it you mean, the item they click through too, no, that should be OK to have themes on them. BUT imported items (blogs or initiative news) should not have any themes associated to them. I thought this would be cool last spring, but it's an inaccurate heuristic leap to assume that because the initiative has ticked 'theme1' 'theme2' in their profiles, that we automatically associate that theme to their incoming feed.

Title linked request: ignore for now - keep 'original article' as is

Initiative title: it would be nice, obviously, but I'm sensing we're running out of time, so unless this is a quickie, stow it.

Yes, by 'node view' (as opposed to teaser view) I meant full page, clicked-through version.

Shall remove the actual 'themes' field from the imported blog/news nodes then? Or just hide it? Will it be used again in the future?

Initiative title/ Title linked: Not a quickies as it's some template massaging and some PHP to get the right, but then it's not that much work either - prob 15-30 mins... Hmm?

Hide it for now. To confirm - when you say node view, you don't mean we are re-creating a node, it's just the content we get from the feed from the Initiative, yes?

Initiative title being a link to the Initiative profile page: if under 30 mins, do it - it's a nice touch.

erm. while you're on this one - can remove the themes from the /news page as well? it looks rough (also seen but a bit lost on #206...

1) Hidden from imported [whatever]... And node view is the view of a single node. E.g. /node/1235 = /news/2010-21-52/whaevers. Teaser is the snippet view used everywhere else.

2) It's a 15-30 minute job and needs a release of the theme (happening anyway for Laura's stuff.)

3 (erm) themes removed from the teasers of most things, thus making /news /blogs etc look cleaner.

Ed, I notice that a lot of items have no effective teaser since I set it to 200chars...

It must count code too, so if a post starts with an embedded picture nothing is displayed.

Moving to 400chars to try to fix the issue.
