Transition Technology: Ticket #222: Filter formats: CMS items content does not align

Further to the WYSIWYG in the CMS having buttons that don't work, I have stripped the 'filtered html' buttons to the following:
https://www.transitionnetwork.org/admin/settings/wysiwyg/profile/1/edit

As discussed with Laura, it is useful to enable filtered html users to align their text. So I have kept those buttons in. But the CMS theme strips out all alignment.

Can you enable (left, central, right) alignment in all CMS items?

Is this a Laura job? Or a Jim job?

It's not actually to do with the editor or WYSIWYG - it's a content type filter thing. BUT:

Filtered HTML DOES NOT allow 'attributes' (like style etc) in the HTML. This is by design and expected.

Allowing non-editors access to 'Full HTML' is a security risk, and a quick way to F Laura's lovely design in the A.

Alternative: add HTML Purifier and allow a new 'safe full html' format for certain users.

Choose your poison, Ed!

summary
changed from CMS items content does not align to Filter formats: CMS items content does not align

status
                changed from assigned to closed

resolution
                set to wontfix

indeed. But the filtered html editor had style stuff that was being stripped out, hence it was a bit of a usability error. so needed to remove the buttons from the editor. The question was whether we could add some alignment (as per Laura's suggestion).

Therefore taken this as a no, and I'll remove the alignment buttons from the filtered html WYSIWYG and close
