I made a custom theme, and can list the plugins and things to watch out for with regards to upgrading. REconomy site, I didn't design nor build, but helped when they were hacked last year, and have done just a few tweaks to their theme (was a bought one), and improved security and supported their backups; but didn't design nor develop it - can add a few notes to that if helpful.
