I have just used the web interface to update wiki:EarthInheritorsWordPress as this couldn't be done on the command line due to ticket:639

I haven't updated the live theme or the unused themes.

I couldn't check the Earth Inheritors site using the wp comand line tool as it just generated an error, in any case the domain name has expired so I think this site needs shutting down and perhaps archiving, but there is so little on it I'm not sure it's worth it: http://earthin.parrot.transitionnetwork.org/ I might password protect it for the moment.

Transition Movie is due to be archived, see ticket:538#comment:22 so that leaves Transition Streets, we did agree to set up a email list for WordPress admins, see ticket:537#comment:10 but I don't think this ever happened. I have sent a email to Francis about this upgrade.

The upgrade of Transition Culture is down to me, I'll copy the site, upgrade the copy and it that goes OK then I'll upgrade the live site.

The only WordPress site not running the latest WordPress 3.9.1 is the http://www.transitionstreets.org.uk/ site and I think this version is supported till 4.1 is out in December 2014, see https://www.wordpress.org/about/roadmap/

New WordPress WordPress 3.9.2 Security Release, checking what we are running:

So the auto updates are working well, there is nothing that needs doing here (all the sites have been auto updated to new versions compare the above list with that in ticket:619#comment:8).

NB: point of contact in TTT for TTT, Streets, new 'Homes' and 'Films' sites is Nicola Lang, who Chris is in touch with.

As discussed over August, TTT's new 'homes' and 'films' sites are to be set up outside of PARROT with a direct contract with TTT. TTT and Streets sites are still on PARROT which is under review (whether TN should be hosting TTT sites if not hosting others/making a service out of it).

Officially the WordPress position appears to be that only the latest version is supported, (even though they have been publishing security updates for older versions) I found the following via a forum comment:

This is an archive of every release we've done that we have a record of.

None of these are safe to use, except the latest in the 4.0 series, which is actively maintained.

4.1 is due out any moment (RC 3 came out yesterday), I guess we should upgrade Transition Culture ourselves (the last update was done by Sam, see ticket:699, also note there is still the unresolved corrupted archive issue on ticket:719), ask Nicola about Transition Streets and Transition Town Totnes and ask Fiona about the Reconomy site upgrades?

I'm head down in Drupal most of today, but planning on running tests on
my local server here for TTT, and REconomy sites first, then can roll
the updates on their live sites. All being well this evening or Monday.
