Yes, you have ssh access to the nightly backups, this is documented on a
trac ticket if not on the trac wiki.

The comment above, ticket:868#comment:1, was sent when I didn't have easy web access, sorry, if you look at the wiki page for ParrotServer, the backup systems we have in place are documented there wiki:ParrotServer#Backups.

Sam can you try accessing the backups via SFTP or SSHFS and see if these are convenient (I have just checked and your ssh public key is installed on the backup server)?
