also, further to gandi instructions, all domains to be transferred are registered for at least 60 days (next expiry is late April). just registered those that were going to expire before April.

I'm thinking that I could start by listing all the domains and where they are all pointing to on the wiki and then this information could be used to add the DNS entries via the gandi interface -- I assume the plan is that we will use Gandi's DNS servers after the transfer?

Urm yeah you are right, I need to request a Authorization Code to be emailed to the Administrative contact for each domain (Ben I expect) and then he will need to forward these to me and then I can enter these together with the domain names to the bulk transfer form at gandi.net.

I'll do this tomorrow.

afaik, the admin contact in godaddy should go to webproject@... email address... which it should be for gandi too...

I have triggered the emails which should contain the codes for the transfer, I think these go to the registrant rather than the godaddy account email address, these will need to be forwarded to me. When I have these I'll first do a test transfer with one domain and if that is OK then do the rest.

Getting there... INTRANSITIONMOVIE.COM and INTRANSITIONMOVIE.ORG have failed but I think it was because of the domains by proxy settings so a few others will also fail and have to be started again.

Also some more money is needed to start the transfer of the last few.

On the domains that are in progress gandi is reporting:

The TAG has been switched to GANDI for transitionnetwork.org.uk and transitionnetwork.co.uk but I've not been able to pick then up at the Gandi.net end and I have submitted a support ticket about this.

I have checked all the domains that are being redirected and updated the wiki:DomainNames page and added some info for new domains at the top of it.

The outstanding issues, apart from the switchover on Monday, are:

1. transitionvideo.org isn't redirecting yet, gandi's dns servers need to update.

2. transitionnetwork.org.uk is not yet associated with the gandi handles, I have raised another ticket with gandi about the error one get's with this.

I have just switched transitionnetwork.org to use gandi's DNS servers and this could cause people problems for a few minutes -- gandi's servers are not yet responding to quesries regarding transitionnetwork.org, but they should be soon.

Oops, after switching to use gandi DNS servers there was a moment before I updated the zone file for the domain and for that moment gandi thought we were pointing the domain at their servers and now gandi DNS servers are serving the wrong info. This should sort itself out in a few minutes.

I have finally got the gandi.net setup to be rational, using 3 zone files for everything to make updates easy (getting it so it's easy to use wasn't so easy!).

There is still an update pending at gandi for the redirected domains but that should be done in a moment.

There are 55 domains that are simply redirecting to the network site, at some point it might be worth looking at how they could be better used...
