Description

The Transition Theme pages (e.g. /food) need a tidy up and overhaul. Ideally the introduction of panels so that admin can make specific tweaks (e.g. not show a content type in one of the theme pages).

A few introductory issues (more will follow):

  1. Remove RH column for full width
  2. Keep editable section at top and enable image embedding
  3. Show the lists of all related content types in a coherent way
  4. Related content types at this time are: news, people, projects, initiatives, resources, blog posts

panels good thank you - we are missing the remaining content types: People and Food

Ed has tried to add this but can't work it out, and Jim has locked the panel editing so Ed thinks it's doubly sensible to not tinker. Here are the requests in order of do-ability:

  1. Preferred: Add a new nicely aligned set of three panels underneath the main three panels with:

Panel a. list of People associated with Food
Panel b. list of Events associated with Food
Panel c. empty now, something Ed can add later (maybe a tag or forum thing)

  1. Bodged: Stuff the people and events into the current page structure

Panel a. Add the 'list of people associated with Food' underneath 'News'
Panel b. Add the 'list of events associated with Food' underneath 'Initiatives'

  • Add Hours to Ticket changed from 0.0 to 0.1
  • Total Hours changed from 0.0 to 0.1

It's only locked because I was editing it and hadn't cancelled the operation. And is it that you can't add 'Transistion Theme' content type? Shall I tweak the perms?

Anyway... How about:

  1. Better use of custom Panels layout
    ------------------------------------------------------------------|

    | 'Theme' Events | |
    | (longer lines for more space) | latest people |
    | . | . |
    | . | . |
    | . | . |
    | . | . |
    |--------------------------------------------| . |
                                                 |--------------------|

The relative orders are moveable, but since News and Events have long titles and dates etc, they need more space than the people, projects and inis.

Hmmm?

Opening this again as it has good information and was closed as phase 3 ran out of time. See the design Jim did above for reference - good layout.

Content types needed to be automatically feeding in:

News
Blog posts
Events
Initiatives
Projects
People
Resources

ALSO: editable text panes:

  1. 'intoduction' pane (already there)
  2. 'free' pane (including title) for user (could be admin) to add)

Not sure where the 'free' pane would go - it's bound to have some blurb and links to other pages/sites etc.

This is largely done...

  • Each CT requested is on the page.
  • Plain intro field added (1 above), max 160 chars, body to be used for meatier chunks (2 above) as it has full HTML capabilities.
  • Intro and body run full width of page for now, can be rearranged as needed.
  • 2 col 'Golden ratio' layout is available for re-use across the site where needed.
  • All content types now have a panel pane "[content type] (by Topic)" which is used here. This means Ed can turne fields on/off, change the titles and the number of items etc via panels backend.
  • More links point to the main pages for each CT.

Anything else to do?

Looks great. As per the request. I'd close it instantly myself, but going to run this by Cat for feedback.
