Description
Please merge: '/network/news' and '/news'
So that there is one news stream for 'Transition Network News' content type.
It goes into /news view and related blocks and widgets and RSS feed.
'/network/news' no longer exists
This arose from a navigation workshop yesterday with key staff. We had the situation before as we had originally thought that we would promote either /network/news or /community/news to /news, but that's not going to happen as we're not creating nodes for /community/news (see phase 3 and the sharing engine job for references to this).
Change History

- Status changed from closed to reopened
- Resolution fixed deleted
/news only showed /news/network that had been promoted via nodequeue
now this won't be desirable - now we want all news generated on tn.org to be /news. ie we don't want to have to promote it on nodequeue
is that done?

firstly DO NOT CHANGE THIS URL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, I just sent it to 10.5K people
This URL:
http://www.transitionnetwork.org/news/2011-06-23/conference-2011-update
is a network news item, using nodequeue to be /news
the breadcrumb still says network news
.. seewhaddimean?
if network news automatically becomes /news, that's fine,

- Sorry, wasn't clear from the original ticket what precisely to do...
- Have removed 'promoted via nodequeue' stuff, hence /news will show Imported News and Transition Network News... Or do you want Community news in there despite the SE resyndicating the stuff at /news/community?
- No URLs will change.
- Breadcrumbs updated to remove 'network' (breadcrumbs are per CT)
- Widget views updated too, they were using the nodequeue
- Nodequeue for News removed since nothing is using it now.
All groovy?

Sorry it wasn't explicit enough.
Here's the breakdown I want:
/news: will show only news generated on TN.org as Transition Network news CT (http://www.transitionnetwork.org/node/add/network-news)
/news/community: will show imported community news from the SE
'Imported news' isn't being used at all at the moment - errr - umm - I don't think - it was for a 'partners' style news option in the future around which nothing is happening at the moment. I guess in the future we might want to be able to collect news from partner organisations, a la blogs importing. But not now.
which begs the question. Shall we just remove the 'imported news' and imported news parent' CTs to keep things tidy?
i can't think of any use for them now...
discussion on Friday, 10:00?
/news/network removed.
/news already shows what was on /news/network plus more...
Done?
