blog teaser length is controlled by the global setting. I drupal 6 this is found on admin/content/node-settings and is set at 400chars.

I could enable the teaser break button so that this could be controllable on a per-node basis. (The break button inserts the code <!--break--> into the html which allows you to specify where the break occurs if you want to override this setting.

There is also a module to specify the teaser break length on a per content type basis... (in d7 this is in core)

Teaser break button - does this mean that the editor can add a break at the point where they want the teaser to end, and that sets it to appear in listings to that number of chars - which can be different every time?

  • Add Hours to Ticket changed from 0.0 to 0.33
  • Total Hours changed from 0.25 to 0.58

I've added the teaser break button.

Instructions...

To add a break (the point where you want the teaser to end), simply hit the teaser break button (it's the last one). A horizontal dotted line will appear in the wysiwyg with the word <!--break--> in it. This won't appear when viewing the node or the teaser.

Example for you to see....
I've added a break here:
https://www.transitionnetwork.org/blogs/ed-mitchell/2013-11/web-strategy-update

The teaser did show:

Web strategy update
This is a brief outline with notes about where the Transition Network web project is at in November 2014.

Now it shows:

Web strategy update
This is a brief outline with notes about where the Transition Network web project is at in November 2014. The year 2014/15 is going to be a big year for the web project; Transition Network is undergoing a huge organisational strategy re-fresh in response to organisational needs and the big changes in the Transition movement, and it is clear to us that the current site needs to be overhauled.
