Description

January:

Create button for TN homepage and /news and /blogs to encourage people to send in stories.

  1. create button like the existing ones - e.g:

https://www.transitionnetwork.org/admin/build/block/configure/block/89?destination=newhome

  1. add suitably pithy text
  1. if in doubt about style, read Ben's style cheatsheet on google docs:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1z6JYGiy8EJ6pqjm_WyNUS26fQgIClmIFg0a-8y-Mots/edit#heading=h.siua52eim2e9

  1. this will need to be an email forwarder to send to Rob instead of a http link as per the other buttons, so you'll need to set one up on United's dashboard using the main 'jmcgeechan' account

cc-ing benj as he can be around to help with postitioning/button make if an issue - but can't do email forwarder set up - and don't forget sam - if you're too busy you can always farm it out to ben (although this is probably a bit easy for ben, he'll know about how to get blocks in the right order)

NB: there is already a 'suggested news item' link from the contact form on TN.org which goes to Rob and webproject...

Hi Ed

Not sure about this one, seems like the homepage is pretty busy already.

In the interests of keeping it as minimal as possible I have done a simple 'suggest a news item' button.

https://www.transitionnetwork.org/ (visible to admin only at the moment pending feedback)

At the moment it just links to the contact form. I could do a standalone webform for it if you prefer?

I'm not sure about the forwarding thing you were suggesting? Were you thinking a 'mailto:' link? I'd shy away from these for reasons of spam & usability.

Let me know what you think..

Thanks

Sam

correct the homepage is very busy atm and i haven't had the time to go through it with rob. keep this as not published for now and let's revisit it if it comes up again.
