Description (last modified by jim) (diff)
NOTE: This is not a requirement to move forwards, but is becoming ever more important... What we have works fine, but we have no upgrade path without significant work.
The Feeds module in use on LIVE is Alpha 11, and the module is now up to Beta 10 - so we're 15 unstable updates out of sync, 5 of which are Alpha updates that have non-trivially upgradable update paths.
In other words, this module has changed significantly over the past 6 months and John's feed importer that relies on it is very likely to be incompatible.
It might be easier to just uninstall feeds, re-enable and then try to fix John's Feed importer features... Or re-create.

Note that, if we're going for a shared code-base this is a blocker for the Sharing Engine.
If there's another server instance running it, that's not a problem.

OK, latest updates to LIVE move Feeds from alpha10 to beta2... Have re-saved the importers John made.
Will update to the next beta step when next pushing stuff to the site.
Slowly slowly catchy monkey!!

OK... Latest on DEV (which took us to the latest version of Feeds) broke the feed imports. However, after some pain I found it's possible to get them to work (for Rob's blog + Transition Radio) by re-creating these feed 'parent' items...
This now works on DEV and indeed provides a little extra functionality (importing tags, changes to allow pictures and other styling to be imported etc) - to get DEV to behave properly pending move to LIVE.
BUT after going around in circles I'm not certain what caused them to stop importing - or indeed restart. Will tread carefully during move to LIVE.
